MCI Revised GME- FMT subject: Changes done on Hon'ble HCs order (June 2014) in PIL filed by him.

MCI is planning to release the revised GME which is slightly different from GME 2012 having additional emphasis on Clinical Forensic Medicine and provision for actual demonstration of cases (in relation to subject of Forensic Medicine).
Some of you may be aware that on PIL, filed by him (Writ Petition titled Dr. Indrajit Khandekar Vs Union of India (WP No. 4974/2012) the Hon’ble High Court has directed the MCI to consider the suggestions given in petition. This petition was filed on the study report of 464 pages submitted to MCI in 2011.
Whatever good changes that we may see in relation to FMT subject, will be due to the collective efforts of so many individual forensic experts, national and state organizations. Even, in meeting, he was shown the suggestions received regarding FMT from various forensic experts including junior one across the country. All suggestions were very very pertinent and excellent one and MCI studied all. This shows that, not only the organizations but so many individual faculties were deeply concerned with our subject. Another interesting feature that he noticed is that, forensic faculties have not only suggested changes regarding subject of FMT, but also regarding overall medical education. Kudos to all of them.
Hope that MCI keeps all the issues as it is in final version as discussed in meeting. But, till the final version gets officially released we will have to keep fighting.
